Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

I found this quote perfectly fabulous for this somewhat sporty day today:

"What I’m most interested in is men’s liberation through fashion. I think that now women have so much more freedom in terms of what they can wear. And in the '70s Yves Saint Laurent put women in pantsuits, and it was a revolution, and now women can walk around in pants everyday, which several decades ago was not considered appropriate. Jeans, T-shirts, none of this. But, you know, men aren’t supposed to wear a dress. Men aren’t supposed to wear a skirt. Men aren’t supposed to wear sheer mesh -- unless you’re like a tranny or something. So I’m really interested in maintaining masculinity and still being able to explore other venues of fashion. We need to start moving in that direction."
- Andrew Mukamal (Kelly Cutrone's Assistant)

Bring on the revolution! After all, I do love Marc Jacobs in a kilt...

The Play's The Thing

Just a note to share that I'll be taking a cat-nap-sized break / bearish hibernation from blogging as the real world has been nagging me for my proper attention to get some things in order. So, in the quite over used words of Arnold Schwarzenegger: "I'll be back..."

Until then,
M

P.S.
A big thanks to all who read/follow the blog! It means a lot.

Behind the seams

I adore peeking behind the scenes of fashion ateliers -- watching Loic Prigent's The Day Before was total nirvana for me -- so this look into Maison Martin Margiela's avant garde workshop was nearly, in its brief 3 minutes, as exciting :)

XO,
M

P.S. Bicycle reflectors and bungee cords? Who knew? Amazing...

Funny Video (and cute -- you'll see it at the 1:47 mark)

I actually thought that the bunny ears were a headband, so having to knot the 'ears' in a high chignon really surprised me. I'm a bit sad because I've been dreaming of picking up one but my short hair is not compatible with such fastening :(

Fabulous Duo

How fabulous are Baptiste and Lara together? Don't they make stealing look cool? -- but seriously, kids...keep it real, don't steal.

Anyway, previously I mentioned doing a portrait of Baptiste. Well, I've finished it and put it on my other blog -- have a look here.
